In the middle of August we checked out this quintessential, classical British hotel. It's a sophisticated, independent hotel that remains in the ownership of the Goring family, the same family that originally owned Buckingham Palace.

The Goring never advertises but continues to draw many of America's elite who appreciate outstanding service, gourmet British cuisine and the benefits of a wonderfully convenient location. Buckingham Palace is just around the corner so to speak and glamorous Knightsbridge is close too.

Traditional afternoon tea is not to be missed nor is a wonderful dining experience in the restaurant.

The Osprey team gives full marks on all counts but would highlight the discreet staff that provides outstanding service. In fact uncompromising standards are the hallmarks of this our favourite London hotel.
